How to Play

Official rules for the FightPool™ prediction game.

FightPool™ is a skill-based MMA prediction platform where users forecast fight outcomes and earn points based on accuracy. Players make three selections for every fight on the card: the winning fighter, the method of victory, and the round of finish. All three selections are required for each fight.

How to Play

  1. Join a FightPool contest.
  2. Make picks for every fight on the card.
  3. For each fight, select: the winning fighter, the method of victory, and the round the fight ends (or Decision).
  4. Picks lock before the first fight begins.
  5. Points are awarded as fights conclude.
  6. The player with the highest total score wins the pool.

Players remain active throughout the entire event. One incorrect pick does not eliminate you from the competition.

Methods of Victory

Players must select one method for each fight:

  • KO / TKO
  • Submission
  • Decision

Official results declared by the promotion determine scoring. Doctor stoppages are counted as TKO.

Round Selection

Players must select the round in which the fight ends. Available options depend on the scheduled length of the fight:

  • Rounds 1–3 are available for all fights
  • Rounds 4–5 are available only for fights scheduled for five rounds
  • Decision can be selected if the fight is expected to go the distance

Shallow Splash

The Shallow Splash is a double-or-nothing mechanic applied to the co-main event. If your selected fighter wins, all points earned for that fight are doubled. If your fighter loses, you earn zero points for that fight.

Deep End Dive

The Deep End Dive is a wager on the Main Event. Players select a percentage of the points they have accumulated before the Main Event and stake it, or stake 0% to sit the dive out.

  • Minimum wager: 0% (sit it out)
  • Maximum wager: 100%
  • Increment: 1%

If your Main Event fighter wins, that percentage is added to your total score. If they lose, it is subtracted. Your Deep End Dive percentage is hidden from other players until picks lock.

Perfect Pick Bonus

A Perfect Pick occurs when a player correctly predicts the fighter, method, and round for a single fight. Perfect Picks earn a bonus of 50% of the base points earned on that fight, in addition to standard points.

Pool Shark Bonus

The Pool Shark Bonus rewards players who consistently pick winners across the entire card. It is awarded based solely on fighter selection accuracy and is calculated at the completion of the event.

  • Miss 2 or fewer winners: +5 points
  • Miss 1 winner: +10 points
  • Perfect card (all winners correct): +20 points

Cancelled fights and No Contests are excluded. Pool Shark is awarded independently for each play submitted.

Main Event Watch

Once Main Event picks lock, the Main Event Watch screen becomes available on the event page. It shows every player's rank, their Main Event pick, and their Deep End Dive percentage: a live snapshot of who is on which fighter and how much they wagered. Deep End Dive percentages remain hidden before lock and become visible after lock.

Monthly Seasons

Monthly Seasons are an optional competition layer that runs across a full calendar month. Players join a season once, then their score from every UFC event in that month accumulates toward a season leaderboard.

  • Separate season entry: opt in once per season
  • No late entries: only events that start after you join count
  • Cumulative score across all UFC events in the calendar month
  • Highest cumulative score wins the season

Players who don't join a season can still play individual events normally. Seasons are an additional layer, not a replacement.

Multiple Entries

Players may submit up to 2 entries per event. Each entry is scored independently and appears separately on the leaderboard (e.g. "Mario (Play 1)", "Mario (Play 2)").

Picks Lock

Picks may be edited until the event lock time. Once the first fight begins, picks are locked and cannot be changed.

Tiebreakers

If two or more players finish with the same total score, ties are resolved in the following order:

  1. Most Perfect Picks: Player with the highest number of Perfect Picks wins.
  2. Highest Overall Pick Accuracy %: Calculated across all prediction categories (fighter, outcome, round):
    (Correct Fighter + Correct Outcome + Correct Round) ÷ (3 × Eligible Fights)
  3. Highest Fighter Accuracy %: Based solely on correct fighter selections:
    Correct Fighter Picks ÷ Eligible Fights
  4. Prize Split: If players remain tied after all previous tiebreakers, prizes are split equally.

Cancelled fights and No Contests are excluded from all accuracy calculations.

Technical Issues

If a technical malfunction prevents a game mechanic from operating normally (for example, a live wager window failing to open or being cut short), that mechanic is voided for all players on that event and the event is scored without it. No player is advantaged or disadvantaged relative to any other. Affected players are notified in-app when this occurs.

Official Results

FightPool scoring is based on official results announced at the conclusion of the fight by the governing athletic commission or event promoter.
